As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we thought it would be great for you to get to know a little bit more about our wonderful Managing Director, Jo. Without her and her husband Phil, there would be no Stimulus.
Jo started her career as a management consultant in technology with a global professional services company and specialised in CRM. She really wanted to be a business analyst and found a move to a smaller boutique consultancy would allow her the chance to develop those skills. Her early career was spent in London, Luzern and Amsterdam.
Juggling family life and her career as we all know, can be quite challenging so that drove a move away from consultancy so she could be nearer home and travel less, but she did miss the consultancy life.
Jo co-founded Stimulus Consulting with her husband Phil in 2009. Stimulus became a Salesforce consultancy with just one instructor – one of the first certified Salesforce instructors, and one of the first 500 certified administrators globally. Since 2009, Stimulus has gone from strength to strength. The company is now an official Salesforce partner with an amazing team of consultants and instructors.
Outside of work, Jo loves to travel and see the world with her family (something she is really missing right now). Her childhood memories were also full of travel. Her family would regularly travel around Europe and camp wherever they could. They went as far as the USSR before the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Albania before the fall of communism, and so many interesting places – which led to her love of travel.
Her family between them, have been swimming with whale sharks off the coast of Mexico, piranha fishing in the Pantanal in Brazil, visited Chernobyl (before the documentary!), and were planning to see the Komodo Dragons before lockdown hit.
Jo is currently using her spare time training to become a Search and Rescue Technician. There you go! If you didn’t know much about Jo, now you do, and we certainly think the world could do with more Jos!
So let's raise a glass to the progress we've made as women, for women. Happy International Women’s Day to all.
