Our lovely Director Jo has decided to do something quite amazing and run 26.2 miles in the London Marathon on the 28th April. Jo took a call at the end of January from Marie Curie who asked her if she would run the marathon on their behalf and immediately, she said yes.
Straight after the call, she realised that she only had less than half the notice that most people have to start training for a marathon and immediately questioned her sanity (but not the decision)!
Jo isn't a newbie when it comes to running, she has completed the London Marathon once before and one other in Manchester. She has also completed a couple of half marathons as well as lots of 5ks. Regardless, running yet another marathon is an immense challenge, and this is the first time Jo has run in aid of a charity.
Marie Curie is a cause that Jo cares passionately about. The support and care that they provide can be transformational for the people affected by cancer. Jo's wish is for everyone to be able to access the support and care they offer, at a time when everything else can seem so desolate and meaningless.
We are being regaled with stories of her training antics and everyone in the office feels like we are on this journey with her. Some of the team have even been cajoled into running to and from the office to keep her company on her training runs.
Everyone at Stimulus is very proud and inspired by Jo and we can't wait to cheer her on in April. You can read Jo's story on JustGiving. Any donation, no matter how small, really would mean the world to her.
Good luck Jo!
