Summer ‘22 is proving to be a big release in the world of Analytics including a new name, a new data manager and much more.
Introducing the new Analytics name: CRM Analytics. This product has had four name changes in approximately 6 years, as it has formerly been Tableau CRM, Einstein Analytics and Wave. but fear not – even though the name has changed the platform hasn’t, it’s still a powerful and intelligent analytics experience.
Now let’s move on to the data manager. One of the first things you’ll notice is the new look and feel which is slick and streamlined. The second thing you will notice is there are several options available. Over the past few years, there have been a number of enhancements which are designed to move customers towards recipes. Whilst these have been well documented, when it comes to dataflow, the opposite is true – there has been nothing until Summer ’22. From the new data manager, there is no tab to edit your dataflows, but instead you will now have to open the old version of the data manager to access them and convert them into recipes.
If you’re a bit like me and have poured over the release notes, you’ll have seen that there are continuous improvements to existing connections as well as additions to the number of connections available, which comes hand in hand with the move towards using recipes. Something else you will see in the new data manager is the new Connections tab, which shows your connections in a neat list. You’ll see a brand-new Usage tab as well! This gives you improved visibility of your usage and limits, which will save you from having to go back and forth between Analytics settings in Setup and the Data Manager.
Now let’s look at some of the platform reporting updates:
Create Reports Based on Selected Salesforce Objects (Beta)
Have you ever tried to create a report using a report type, only to realise that it doesn’t contain the objects you need? Struggle no longer, there’s now a solution! With the introduction of the Summer ’22 release, you can filter report types in the create report window to only display objects based on those you use on a regular basis.
Summary Functions now includes Median
Report on the statistics that matter to your business, now including median. This will be available for all summary measures in reports and dashboards.
