It goes without saying, testing your emails is very important. Not just because the quality of our emails is important, but an untested email can have a negative impact on our Deliverability and Sender Reputation. In this blog, we will be going over the three internal Salesforce testing tools available in Marketing Cloud.
Content Detective
It important to make sure our Sender Reputation is not tarnished by appearing in Spam folders. Content Detective can help. It checks the content of your email, looking for phrases or words that might trigger a spam filter. The results of this test will give you details that not only explain what is wrong, but what you could do to resolve the issue.
Subscriber Preview
Another vital test that needs running is making sure any code or personalisation in the email renders correctly. Subscriber Preview allows you to select a subscriber to render the email as if they received it, this would then validate the syntax and makes sure you are getting the results you are after. Any failure to run the preview will display an error, this would also mean that you would not be able to send the email.
Test Send
Test Send basically does exactly what is says on the tin. It allows you to send a copy of the email to your internal team to make sure all links are working and to see how it looks in the inbox. One way of doing this is selecting a testable Data Extension that contains different email address from different email clients. That way, you can be confident that you email will render the way you want it to for everyone.
By using these Salesforce testing tools that are all available in Marketing Cloud, you’ll have confidence in the quality of your content.
